chAIr
(AI-Guided Furniture Design)

chAIr is the result of a design experiment that bridges artificial intelligence and physical craftsmanship. Created during a course in my communication design studies, the project began not with wood or sketches — but with machine learning.

I trained a custom AI model using existing chair designs and used it to generate a wide range of speculative forms. From dozens of surreal and unexpected outputs, I selected one design to bring into the real world.

The final chair has something playful and childlike — fragile at first glance, yet surprisingly stable. With the help of my friend Lars Schneider (a professional cabinet maker), I was able to construct the chair and exhibit it as part of a small show in Frankfurt.
